I got nothing. Zip. Zilch. Zero. Nada.
The end of pregnancy, delivery and now new motherhood… well there’s just been no time to write. Even though I told myself I’d be able to keep up with this challenge, I haven’t been able to in the least.
When there’s the option of catching a nap or penning a six-word story… I choose nap. And according to all the conventional wisdom that’s the right thing to do.
Adjustment and sleep deprivation are a bitch! I hope to make a rousing comeback by May. But unless I catch some massive wind this summer, I sincerely doubt I’ll end the year with 52 full stories. At this rate, I may not even manage 30.
If you’re continuing the 52 Week Short Story Challenge, I certainly hope you’re doing better than me. And if not, don’t lose the faith! Keep writing- if you can.
Now, I’m off to take my 18-day-old son to Baby Story Time at the local library. Yes, he’s probably going to sleep through it- but if I can’t write, I can at least make sure this kid is exposed to reading early on. 🙂
